ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Amazon Order Upload Tool is an excel macro-enabled workbook that allows you to create new customer’s addresses and import all your Amazon orders at once into your system. We designed the tool for the customer service department of one of our clients that struggled with growing Amazon sales. The client estimated monthly time savings of around 25-30 hours per month.
PROBLEM
Tracking Amazon sales orders and inventory became very labor-intensive and tideous when the sales increased rapidly. Especially after joing FBA program offered by Amazon. It required more and more manual labor to enter orders into the company’s system. Time spent on data entry for 300 orderws was estimated around 25- 30 hours / month. It required typing in customer information as well as sales order information.
SOLUTION
We created an excel spreadsheet with the code working behind the scenes. The code converts easily accessible Amazon reports into a customed import template. It creates new customer addresses and populates all required order information, which then you can upload into the system at once. The entire process takes 5-10 minutes, no matter how many orders we want to import.
The tool has been designed as a simple and cheap alternative to EDI solutions. It is easy to implement and maintain. It is most suitable for small Amazon sellers that would like to automate order entry into their system, but do not have the volume of transactions to justify EDI solution yet.
RESULTS
It is esitmated that the tool saved 5-6 minutes per each order. Our clients with 250 – 300 orders a month saved 25-30 hours of manual labor and they can allocate labour hours to the tasks that bring more value to the company!
